The first APOLC commencement exercises

Sharing with you pics of last year's graduation rites.
It was attended by no other than our beloved Vice Mayor and one of our sponsor Vice Mayor Patrick Rubin. It was a very nice even attended by at least 25 brothers and sisters from different chapters including the founder of APOLC in Cainta Joey Policarpio who also gave a speech of encouragement to the students and the parents.
We hope that this year's commencement exercises will be as successful as the first one.
Congratulations to the first APOLC graduates!

FAQs about APOLC-Angono
What is APO Learning Center?
Quoting from the website of APOLC, Inc., "APO Learning Center is an educational institution which operate a free preparatory education for the indigent children."
Although the concept of APOLC Angono was taken and adopted from the original SEC-registered APOLC, Inc., the proponent group of the APOLC in Angono is entirely different and separate from that of the latter. Some officers and active Members of the APO Angono Alumni Association were the ones who initiated and worked on the APOLC Angono project.
What do you give to beneficiaries?
We give free education. We provide everything for the student. Classroom/school, teacher, books, school materials, even uniforms.
How do you choose beneficiaries?
We have a screening process which determines the student's eligibility for the scholarship. We also have an assessment test to help us choose the most deserving students.
I'm not a member of APO, can I also help?
Of course, we also have sponsors and supporters who are not APO members but have committed themselves into helping APOLC.
How can I help?
Any form of donation is most welcome. Some have donated notebooks, pens, crayons, etc., chapters of APO hold their batch services in APOLC through feeding programs, medical missions, etc. and many have donated monetarily. You can get in touch with our key officers for your donations and pledges.
What is the next plan for APOLC Angono?
Thanks to Vice Mayor Patrick Rubin who has pledged to find a multi-purpose hall in Angono to build a bigger and better classroom for APOLC, we will be moving to a new venue by next year. Thus, we will again need your support to help find funds for the construction/finishing of this site.
We also intend to have afternoon classes by next year. Thus, we hope to double the number of students/beneficiaries by next year.

Chapter Services #1: Kappa Kappa gives medical check-up to APOLC-Angono
The first chapter to hold their service activity in APO Learning Center is our VP Ryan Mananquil’s beloved chapter – Kappa Kappa (NCBA Taytay).
Last August 13, 2010, the residents of Kappa Kappa Chapter lead by Brod and Dr. Abel Villamayor MD with the support and guidance of the alumni offered a free medical check-up to the 20 students of the APO Learning Center. The chapter also provided free medicines and vitamins to the children as well as merienda and drinks for all to share.
APO Learning Center celebrates ‘Buwan ng Wika’
It was a nice Sunday morning last August 29, 2010 when the APO LC Angono had its first ‘Buwan ng Wika Celebration.
Dressed in Filipina outfit, the APOLC-Angono students promenaded along the streets of E. Bautista, E. Rodriguez and Dona Nieves. The parade was followed by a program prepared also by the students with the help of their parents.
A group danced in the tune of Paro-parong bukid while another group danced Carinosa. Sharmaine offered a short Tagalog poem about our country and 2 kids also recited a poem about our national bird – the Eagle. 4 of the students sang a song – Hugis Bilog. Finally, all of the students sang ‘Pilipinas kong mahal’.
It was a wonderful event that was witnessed by guests and friends. The children’s parents were truly proud of their kids and so were the brothers and sisters of APO.
